Former Cavalier Finds New Home

Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa…Northern Iowa.

Virginia transfer Paul Jesperson has announced that he is headed to Northern Iowa.

Averaging 4.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in just over 25 minutes, the wing was starting to look a little crowded to Jesperson, so he decided he was done after two seasons (and a redshirt year) as a Cavalier.

The 89th rated player coming out of the 2011 class (according to ESPN) joins a NIU team best known for their surprise Sweet 16 run in the 2010 Tournament. As the 9th seed, the upset #1 overall Kansas 69-67, before falling to Michigan State in the next round.

Jesperson will have to sit out a year before he can play for the Panthers.
