Pitt Wants In On The Trevor Lacey Sweepstakes

A while back I told you about former five-star recruit Trevor Lacey. A two-year starter for Alabama, Lacey was looking for a new home.

At this point, plenty of ACC schools were making their pitch to Lacey, including North Carolina State, North Carolina and Miami. Well, it appears we can throw Pittsburgh into the mix.

Alabama transfer Trevor Lacey will visit Pitt tomorrow, per a source. Two years of eligibility remaining. NC State, Miami, UNC in mix.

At Alabama, Lacey was asked to be the go-to guy early. During his freshman year, he looked one-dimensional, relying too much on his outside shot. However, he worked on his ball handling sills and became a nice balanced player in year two.

Obviously any of those teams named above could use a 5-star scoring guard, but for Pitt, any kind of positive news would be soothing for the soul. This is a team dealing with the early departures of Steven Adams and Trey Zeigler, plus it appears DeAndre Kane (a transfer from Marshall) is having second thoughts after meeting with the Pitt coaching staff.

Even though Lacey will have to sit out a year, he looks like a great get for any team that lands him.
