Let’s transfer season begin…

Often when a new coach takes over a problem, players typically take a wait-and-see approach to see what kind of role they’re going to play, but after one season, that’s when you start to see some minor players jump ship.

Aaron Roundtree III and Daniel Green are saying goodbye to Wake Forest and head coach Danny Manning. The latter isn’t a big deal. Although Green was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school and he played 27 games off the bench as a freshman, he struggled with health for most of his career, first sustaining a torn ACL in his right knee prior to the 2012-13 season. The following year he re-injured his knee and sat out a second straight season. This year the redshirt junior only appeared in four games and only in garbage time.

On the other hand, Roundtree played a significant role off the bench, as the top reserve for both the 3/4 spots. The junior averaged just over 14 minutes per game, averaging 2.8 PPG and 2.5 rebounds per contest.

However, with freshman Cornelius Hudson starting at the three and junior Devin Thomas holding down the four spot, Roundtree would never get an opportunity to improve his minutes at Wake in his final season.

Both were brought in by former coach Jeff Bzdelik and both will be graduating after this semester, so they will be able to play right away for whatever school they end up.
